This is because I... read more have heard from acquaintances that Cambodia is a beautiful country and that kitesurfing also offers ideal conditions for it.

Through google I soon came across Cambodia kiteboarding and after one phone call I immediately got the friendly Frank on the phone. I was able to go for a lesson right away next week. The first day was devoted to explaining the material and safety rules. Soon we went into the water to practice with the kite. This kiteboarding school works with top equipment and also a handy headset in the helmet so that I could understand my instructor (Frank) at all times. The second day we started with waterstarting and thanks to Frank's good instructions I was already on the board after 2 attempts and I was kiting whoop whoop! What a great feeling it is once you get on the board and it made me fall in love with this amazing sport!

Frank is a really top instructor, you notice that he has a lot of experience and he makes you feel safe at all times through his instructions. Frank also has a lot of patience and I have seen that he can teach all levels.
Also not unimportant; he is a super nice guy and has the right dose of humor. The lessons were worth every dollar and I will definitely be back to scale up my level by Frank.
And one last tip, stay at Villa vedici, this is a beautiful stay on the river with super sweet and nice staff members.

Frank and his instructor are very knowledgeable. He has the newest equipment and everything is in great condition.

The spot itself is super shallow and calm water and you can walk back which is great while you're still learning. There are no rocks or reef where you can get hurt. And great wind!

The bonus was staying at villa vedici which was a home away from home. A beautiful property on the river, friendly staff and other residents.

All in all, Kampot was a find. Had never heard of it and only came there to kitesurf for a month. Ended up enjoying my time on the water and off it, left with some great memories. Thanks a ton Frank!

Great kite spot - it’s a motor bike/scooter ride away or by boat transfer which is a great experience just getting there. The kite spot is located on a small sand bank with shade surrounded by knee to waist-deep water for a very long way out, making it a perfect beginners spot or for the freestyle kiters looking for flat water. The villa run by Franks family is amazing - chilled easy going and fantastic food. A really good vibe! Hoping to be back again and definitely a kite-spot worth putting on the bucket list - will like to try the better of the seasons in summer.
